[edit] More Great Bridal Shower Themes

A bridal shower is fun and games for the bride and her guests but it is a big responsibility to plan a successful event. No one wants another boring party with the same dull games. Taking everyone on an outing a destination like a spa is a fabulous idea but is a logistical nightmare to plan for a large group and can be very expensive. You want to create an event that will compliment the bride's taste as well as your budget. Think outside the box when considering a bridal shower theme. What are the bride's interests? If your bride is the outdoorsy type, consider grilling outdoors. If she is a urban gal, she might prefer tea with appetizers. Whatever theme you use, find little ways to incorporate it in everything, from the invitations to the party favors. Here are some theme ideas you’ll love.

Kitchen Shower: If you use this theme, be sure that you know the bride’s favorite food and that you have plenty of it for the party. The invitations should also have kitchen images, such as pictures of cutlery. Mention in the invitations that this shower will have a kitchen theme. Naturally, gifts given will be items that can be used in the kitchen, as well as you bridal shower games. This could include dishes and small appliances, but equally good are recipe books or even food items. For decorations, use elegant table-ware, chef’s caps, fancy spoons, kitchen aprons, etc. A variation of this theme is the tea party or recipe theme.

Lingerie Theme: Naturally, you’ll want to use this only if it’s women only at the shower. For the theme, be sure to include lots of silk, flowers, ribbons and netted fabrics. Incorporate some lacy table cloths, silk flowers, scented candles, and potpourri sachets. You might also use some satin for decorations. Common colors are red, pink, white and black. Gifts could include panties, sexy bras, night gowns, perfumes, and so on.

Honeymoon Theme: This theme would include things that could be useful for the newlyweds while on their honey moon. For instance, travel kits. Invitations can be made to look like cruise or airplane tickets or perhaps like passports. Decoration ideas might include paper airplanes, toy boats, travel luggage, or posters of landmarks near the place where the couple plans to go.

Beach Theme: This is a theme that is growing in popularity, especially for summer time weddings. It also works well if the couple plans a beach wedding or a tropical theme. For the shower, you should make your decorations have the look and feel of a beach. This means you’ll be using sea shells, sand, blue colored balloons, tropical flowers, seashell candles, aquariums, blue candles, just for starters. Your decorations should use blue as much as possible, to suggest water or the ocean. Invitations might also consist of shell-shaped cards. As gifts, your guests can give things such as umbrellas, beach chairs ,flip-flops, sunglasses, cameras, beach towels, swimwear, etc.

There are, of course, scores of other theme ideas you could use. But any one of this list will be sure to be remembered as a great time.
